SPTI are seeking expressions of interest from qualified Psychotherapists experienced in working with Young People therapeutically. We are seeking a facilitator who is enthusiastic about this area of therapeutic work with experience of delivering CPD workshops. You would need to be accredited / registered with  BACP/UKCP,  and 5 years post qualification to  level 6-degree level in counselling psychotherapy with a Humanistic modality. Familiarity with core competencies for work with Young People and contemporary understanding about what makes work with this client group unique is desireable.

About the training

SPTI’s ‘Humanistic and Integrative Approach to Working with Young People (11-18)’ is a five-day programme delivered twice per academic year in the Spring and Autumn.

This amounts to 10 days of delivery. Each day begins at 9.30am and ends at 5.00pm with two short breaks and a lunchbreak.

The cohort size for the training is 12 – 16 participants. Participants will be a mix of current BSc students who have completed their first or second year with us as well as some external applicants qualified to level 4 and above.

The workshops will take place in-person at our Castle Quay venue in Nottingham City.

The training will offer participants both theoretical input and experiential exercises.

  • Autumn 2024: Fri 15th, Sat 16th & Sun 17th November & Sat 14th & Sun 15th December 2024 
  • Spring 2025: Fri 4th, Sat 5th & Sun 6th April & Sat 12th & Sun 13th April 2025

Materials and support

SPTI has a selection of course materials and slides in place for delivery of this training which may be adapted and updated by the facilitator. Admin support will be provided by SPTI. If you undertake this work responsibility for updating the materials in accordance with professional body ethical competencies would be required.
