About Me
Hi. Taking the first step into therapy can feel like a significant one, and I want to reassure you that you're in a caring and capable space where you'll be met with understanding and respect. My aim is to help you navigate life's challenges, discover your inner strengths, and live a more fulfilling life. How I work with you -------------------------- My approach to therapy focuses on you as a whole person. I believe everyone has the potential for growth and healing, and I'm here to support that journey. I offer different methods and perspectives, tailored specifically for you. Focusing on you, the individual: At the core of my approach is a belief in your unique potential. I create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can openly explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. We'll work together to help you understand yourself better and unlock your capacity for positive change. The power of our connection: I believe that a strong, trusting relationship between us is crucial for your healing. When you feel understood and connected, it provides a powerful foundation for exploring what's on your mind and making progress. Understanding your story: We'll gently look at how your past experiences, particularly from earlier in your life, might be shaping your current feelings and behaviours. By understanding these influences, we can better address the challenges you face today. In short, I combine these different ways of working to offer you a holistic, caring, and truly personalised experience. Our focus will always be on your growth, strengthening your connections with both yourself and others, and gaining a deeper understanding of your own unique path. About me ------------ I'm a psychotherapist with over nine years' experience, and it's been a privilege to work with people from all walks of life on a wide range of issues. I'm based in Nottingham, and I'm also training to help supervise other therapists, which keeps my skills sharp and my knowledge current. My experience ------------------- I've had the honour of working in diverse settings, which has given me a deep understanding of many different challenges. My experience includes: * Offering compassionate care in hospice settings for those facing terminal-illness and grief. * Providing support for workplace-stress and challenges to NHS and local government employees. * Supporting survivors on their recovery journey from childhood sexual-abuse. * Helping individuals overcome gambling and substance-misuse. * Guiding university students through academic and personal difficulties. This broad background means I'm equipped to handle many different situations with empathy and genuine understanding. Why I believe in therapy ------------------------------- I truly believe in the transformative power of therapy. Both my personal journey and professional work have shown me how impactful it can be. Therapy isn't just about fixing problems; it's about helping you to: * Live more fully in the present moment. * Boost your overall well-being. * Build deeper connections with yourself and those around you. * Make life feel more manageable and meaningful. My commitment to you ------------------------------ I'm dedicated to constantly learning and growing as a therapist. I regularly engage in clinical-supervision and strictly follow the ethical guidelines set by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. This ensures you receive a high standard of care. An inclusive space for everyone ------------------------------------------ My practice is a safe and welcoming space for everyone, regardless of your background, identity, or experiences. I am committed to providing inclusive and affirming support to all individuals. I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey, offering a compassionate, effective, and secure therapeutic experience. Ready to take the next step? ------------------------------------- I invite you to take the first step towards a more fulfilling life.
