- About Me
- All sorts of people seek out therapy at various stages in their life. Whether you know what you want to work on or are unsure, I am here to support you figure things out that are unique to you and your life situation. In particular I have worked for a number of years with people who have experienced complexed trauma. Whether current or historic, abuse and/or traumatic experiences that include bereavement, can lead to a sense of detachment from ourselves, that also impacts relationships around us. I can support you figure out who you are and what you’ve been through. This can allow for a more authentic connection to yourself and enhance relationships with those closest to you. How I work: As a qualified Person-Centred & Experiential Psychotherapist to MSc (distinction) level, the core of my practice is the establishment and maintenance of a confidential, genuine, warm and compassionate relationship. One that safely facilitates unique exploration, that allows for both processing and re-processing of situational experiences. I come with no agenda for you in your therapy, believing that what is there and present for you is what’s right to work with. There may be a focus, boundary or challenge that I hold within our work together, but one that is typically led by you and your therapeutic goals. Where I work: I work both in-person and remotely. I have a dedicated welcoming, professional, and confidential space at home where I work during the daytime. Situated just outside Nottingham city centre, close to Sherwood, Mapperley and Arnold, with plenty of parking and frequent links to public transport. Alternatively, I offer either remote or telephone sessions during the daytime or evening for which I have had specialist training for. I am happy to consider a blend of types of session depending on your unique situation and circumstances. Next steps: If you are thinking about entering into therapy with me, I would be delighted to offer you a free and confidential, no obligation 30-minute consultation, ideally by the way in which you would like to work together. My intention in offering this, is for you to get a feel whether I am the right person to work with you going forward and ask any questions you might have. There will be some questions I have, to understand what you hope to achieve and if I feel I have the qualities and skills to meet these. If it feels for either you or I working together might not be an option, I would be happy to pass on other options for you, should you wish. Please call me on – 07707 176924 or email me on – jackieboot.psychotherapy@gmail.com, if you would like to chat about this option. I am waiting to hear from you and support you in taking your next step forward. If you choose to enter into psychotherapy with me, I charge £55 per 50 minute session and my preference is to work weekly, on a similar day/time. I feel that this allows a for the development of a more effective therapeutic connection but I am happy to consider other ways of working either short or long term, depending on your individual needs. We can agree a set number of sessions to work together or keep this more open-ended, reviewing as we go along. In summary, I could be the therapist for you if you: - are looking to explore and understand your experiences, perhaps differently to how you’ve been able to previously - know what you want to focus on or are unsure but know you seek change - are wanting to explore your experiences, working towards how/what you identify them as - identify as a survivor of current and/or historic abuse that includes emotional, physical or sexual - identify as a survivor of current and/or historic traumatic experiencing including bereavement - are ready to commit to a session a week with me, a professional psychotherapist, supporting you meet a more authentic connection with yourself and those closest to you.
