About Me

I have been counselling since 1995. First I worked as a counsellor for students and staff in a Catholic Sixth Form College in S.E. London, then as a student counsellor at Nottingham College. I did my placement for the MSc Integrative with Nottingham Counselling Service and I have worked exclusively in private practice since 2012. I originally did a Humanistic & Psychodynamic Certificate in Counselling and then some psychoanalytic training with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust which included a two year infant observation. Throughout this period I had three times psychoanalysis on the coach for five years. Sometime after this I trained as an Neuro Linguistic Programme practitioner and hypnotherapist. As well as engaging in personal one to one therapy I have been a member of a psychodrama therapy group for a couple of years. My specialist interest is working relationally and developmentally with adults who have experienced neglect or abuse and I use the inner child metaphor to work in the here and now bringing what is youngest inside to what is oldest. In this way I work humanistically always focusing on the here and now adult who is seeking to navigate life and relationships. I am fully committed to working professionally and ethically, always seeking to champion the health and well being of the person I am working with.
