About Me
Hi, I'm Sophie, a therapist working in private practice based in Nottingham and online across the UK. I work in a person-centred and collaborative way and don’t believe there is a one size fits all approach to mental health. I offer a safe and non-judgmental relationship where we can explore whatever it is that you are struggling with together. During sessions, I may offer different perspectives or ways of looking at things, but this comes with the understanding that you are the expert on yourself and with the aim of helping you to find your own way of approaching the difficulties you face. I work with many different issues clients bring to therapy, however, there are some areas I have significant experience and interest in, including working with: anxiety and depression, survivors of trauma and abuse, relational issues, life transitions, embodiment – the way we experience and interact with our bodies, bereavement, identity, exploring sexuality, the impact of being neurodiverse in a neurotypical world, as well as climate and environmental anxiety. Mindfulness meditation and yoga are important to my own wellbeing and I am interested in the way these practices and body awareness can affect our mental health. Whilst these approaches are not right for everyone, if you would like to incorporate mindfulness into our work together then this is something we can discuss. If you are interested in working with me then please get in touch so we can have an initial video/phone call to discuss what you are hoping to get from therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we would be a good fit.
