About Me

Hello, I am Janette. I am a UKCP and BACP-registered psychotherapist. I gained my Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, accredited by Staffordshire University. I am also a qualified EMDR, trauma-informed therapist. I meet with individuals and couples aged 18+. I draw on many theoretical approaches to personalise my therapeutic interventions that both support my work and provide a unique way of working that is based on your individual needs. The success of any therapy work is largely dependent upon the quality of the therapeutic relationship. With this in mind, my approach is always aimed at facilitating a genuine, honest, and real engagement with my clients, founded upon trust, care, and openness that allows the exploration of personal and sensitive issues to be shared within a safe and confidential therapeutic space. I understand how, for many people, the decision to seek therapy can feel like a daunting experience. I aim to make you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible from our first session. I welcome the opportunity to meet and explore the matters you wish to bring.

I help clients with a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to: Trauma & C-PTSD Anxiety & Depression Neurodivergence Health, Surgery & Identity Relationships Emotional Wellbeing Mental Illness & Diagnosis Stress Student/Trainee Counsellors & Psychotherapists I have a particular interest in supporting clients who are preparing for or recovering from major surgery, especially when this involves the removal of a body part for life-saving or life-changing reasons. This interest is informed by my dissertation research during my Master’s degree, where I explored the psychological and emotional impact of surgery on identity and well-being.
