30 hour programme run termly in a variety of attendance modes:

Evening: 10 week Evening programme (usually 6-9pm over 10 evening sessions)
Fast-track: 5 week daytime programme (usually 9.30 – 4.30 – delivered in 2 x 3 hour workshops per day over 5 days)

The Level 2 Award in Counselling Concepts provides an introduction to counselling and may be of interest to you if:

  • You would like a realistic understanding of the nature of counselling training.

Information Evenings

Our free information evenings are a key component of our enquiry and application process which our prospective applicants find helpful and informative. We actively encourage attendance at one of these sessions to support decision making. These evenings offer the opportunity to meet with key staff including Programme Leaders to find out more about our training programmes, our ethos along with our approach to training. Please note that due to demand for places on our information evenings, a deposit is required to secure your place, and this is refunded when you attend.

Modules

The course consists of the following three units, which are internally and externally moderated:

  • Unit 1 The professional context of counselling
  • Unit 2 Communication skills in helping relationships
  • Unit 3 An introduction to personal development

The course is externally validated by Skills and Education Group Awards and offers a 5 credit award at level 2 (GCSE level of study) qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF link). Fees

The £375 tuition fee includes the Skills and Education Group Awards registration and certification charges. 

Fees are valid for one academic year until 31st August 2025 

Attendance requirements

A minimum of 80% attendance to pass is required by Skills and Education Group Awards

Please note: One funded place per Level 2 cohort and one 50% funded place per Foundation Access intake. Bursaries will be awarded one month before commencement of training.
